as nepantlera, my home is in the in-between, though i am whole just as i am. i accompany those navigating the dynamic tension between various parts of themselves - the contradictions that arise when we choose to be ALL OF WHO WE ARE. i’m here to walk alongside people who are ready to live in their full humanity within a world that wants to compartmentalize and label us as either/or, us them, norm/other.

ABOUT KG

I am curiously and boldly practicing imagination - one of a liberated life woven by love, play, joy and justice - with my (chosen) fam & community, within work spaces & organizational eco-systems, and across collective movements.

My approach to organizational development, strategic planning, project management, and coaching are undergirded by the 5 Pillar Framework for Liberation and an Embodied Liberation discipline.

I am the Chief of Strategy, Innovation & Impact to Rev. angel Kyodo williams, inculding organizations & projects such as Healing Race Portal, Transformative Change (XC), and Transformative Programs.

I am a certified Embodied Coach™, and teacher through the Warriors for Embodied Liberation program of Universal Partnerships.

Previously, I have worked in philanthropy, within coalitions, and as part of community on housing justice, immigrant rights, inequities in education and healthcare systems, environmental racism, language justice, and the practice of cultivating community belonging, primarily in rural Colorado.

I move through the world as a gender-expansive mama. I am a mixed-race Chicana, often white assumed. I am both colonized and settler-colonizer, a living borderland and sea of contradiction. My autoimmune disease, neurospiciness, and experiences of chronic pain are some of my greatest teachers - I am a humbled student of the body’s wisdom. I hold the complexity of my intersecting identities, experiences and shapings as a convergence of responsibility and possibility.

I have cultivated and nurture a life surrounded by my greatest teachers, loves, artists, movement comrades, and playful futurists.

"KG is a Gem in all spaces she inhabits. They are an exceptional leader, able to balance both right and left brain skill sets. She is a powerful organizer in all capacities. They can think and act like an executive director of a corporation or foundation. KG brings the heart and spirit of a relentless justice advocate marching in the streets. They bring depth and creativity that challenges every notion of what leadership, philanthropy and service are all about. I have worked for her as a consultant, and have marveled at her ability to lead successful teams, convenings, and events from a place of unconditional love. KG is a transformative figure who brings out the best in people. I look forward to collaborating with them for the duration of my life."

“KG consistently demonstrated an incredible acumen for seeing me in all my strength and with all my skills and talents. They saw where I struggled and guided me to reposition from a deficit perspective and to situate myself in my power. This helped me tremendously with my confidence as a leader and to stand in my power to make decisions when I felt uncertain or unsure of myself. They supported me to see that my growing edges don’t have to be a scary realm from which I should run, but that these edges are the prime places for my growth. KG has phenomenal ability to listen and reflect back in a way that reflects three layers of listening: what I’m saying, what I am not saying, and what I intend to say. This allowed me to quickly and deeply trust KG to coach me to be my most liberated and powerful self.”

I worked with KG first in a supervisory role, and later became a service provider for them. What stands out to me about KG is that while many organizations and leaders attest to dismantling hierarchy and honoring diversity, most fall short. KG has cracked the code of shared leadership and executes it seamlessly. As an employee under their supervision, I felt at all times - equal to them. As a team member, it was clear that our differences in cultures, languages and backgrounds were not only respected but intentional and integral to the decisions we made and how we operated. As a service provider, I have seen many employer-employee dynamics, and honestly none compare to the embodiment of shared leadership & DEIJ alignment that KG cultivates. I’m truly grateful.

“KG is a skilled and heartful facilitator and coach with a gift for asking the questions that lead directly to the root of what’s not currently working on personal, interpersonal, and organizational levels; illuminate the values and longings that want to be expressed; and offer loving accountability that supports true transformative practice. I’m very grateful for their wisdom and coaching and feel more rooted because of our work together.”

"During the time I had the experience and fortune of working with KG, I learned a lot about myself. KG has led both group and personal coaching sessions for several years, and I know them as a wonderful community leader. Working with KG was transformative for me, both professionally and personally. They quickly identified my strengths and opportunites for growth, helping me improve in both areas. I learned to leverage my strengths. KG also fostered better personal and professional relationships within our team culture. They supported us in being in principled relationship to the communities we served as organizers and facilitators.

I must highlight KG’s professionalism, strong work ethic and human values. They had the ability to convey calm, serenity, security in oneself, and trust in each other amidst chaos. They have an exceptional ability to go straight to the core of a problem, saving time and energy—something invaluable in the world of coaching, in my opinion.

When we first started working together, I was a single mother, a Latina, and a person of color who barely spoke English, afraid to use my voice. After working with KG, I now feel empowered to assert my rights, seen with admiration and respect. I have gained the strength to inspire others in the same situation I was in before.

homage to all of the people I’ve learned from and continue to learn with - who have held me down, who have held me accountable, who have imagined new worlds that i can be free in. Ancestors, mentors, teachers, comrades, friends.
